IDP was founded by Omar Zaher, who believes that the purpose of design is to create value that maximizes the full potential for higher performance.
Our Principal is a qualified Architect and a holder of Masters in “Sustainable Design of the Built Environment” with The British University in Dubai (BUiD) partnership with Cardiff University UK. He is also a PMP Certified Project Manager and an affiliate member of PMI, Pennsylvania, USA. He is an active member of the UAE Society of Engineers as well as the Emirates Environment Group. He wrote his Master’s thesis on the “Integrated Design Process: an approach for sustainable buildings in UAE construction industry“.
Diligent and innovative in his design approach and with strong organizational abilities, Omar possesses leadership experience on large scale previous and current projects such as Living Legends, Ribat al Bahr developments, Dubai Airport T3, C2 & C3 Hotels, and The EK Lounges for the Dubai Civil Aviation.
Omar headed the design team for many five-star hotel projects in Dubai and the region like; the Jumeirah Al Khor Hotel & Apartments in Health Care City, Hilton Dead Sea in Jordan, Telal Hotel and Hotel Apartments in Dubai, Panorama Hilton Residence in Qatar to name a few in addition to many universities and Airport projects.
His insight into the impact of industry trends on the built environment and thought leadership leads IDP in exploring how design turns client challenges to competitive advantage.
